service industry

China's service industry is emerging. Known for its strong production and manufacturing industries, its consumption and service utilization have tended to be lower than in more developed economies.

Aging and demographic change are key drivers for service and consultation; however, adoption of the Western lifestyle and recent global trends are the new motivators.

Asia Development Bank (www.adb.org) has found that modern services, such as ICT, finance, and professional business services, account for less than 10% of Asia's service economy, well below the 20% to 25% found in advanced economies.

So no surprise we have 43% Services' share in the growth of manufacturing-oriented People's Republic of China in 2000 ongoing.
